Rapid triage platform to detect melanoma early
Agentic AI Dermatologyin the hands of medical professionals
What is Nevus AI?
A Software as a Medical Device (SaMD)
-
Supports the early detection of cutaneous melanoma
-
Examines an image of a mole and returns a malignancy-risk classification
-
Moles suspected of melanoma are immediately triaged and referred to a dermatologist for further investigation
- Dermoscopic image
- GradCAM++ heatmap
- Heatmap on the mole
How does Nevus AI work?
SMASH – Stratified Multi-Agentic System Hierarchy
-
Six independent AI agents
A network of 6 independent AI agents classifies an image of a mole as either normal or suspicious for melanoma.
-
Four datasets each
Every agent is trained on 4 separate datasets of moles. Six specialist AI agents × four datasets gives the combined power of 24 AI models.
-
Built to find abnormalities
Each AI agent has been designed specifically to detect abnormalities in skin lesions:

Every rotation, resolution and scale
The image of the mole is examined across a variety of:
RotationsResolutionsScaleSpatial & frequency rangeAI agents compare patterns in the spatial and frequency range (Fourier analysis).
-
Clinical transparency
GradCAM++ heatmaps from 24 AI models show the regions that drove each decision.
-
Triage with confidence
High risk cases are sent for medical investigation.

Rule out melanoma with confidence
Nevus AI stratifies the risk of melanoma using confidence scores.
Negative Predictive Value (NPV)
If Nevus AI returns a “Normal” classification, there is a 99.91% probability that the mole is genuinely not melanoma.
After examining the mole, every AI agent (each trained on 4 datasets) classifies the image as either Normal or Suspect, with a confidence score from 0 to 100%.
The confidence scores from all 6 AI agents are combined to provide a final classification.
The stress of worrying about a suspicious mole shouldn’t be compounded by having to wait for a referral.
Available for everyone, everywhere
Nevus AI accelerates the medical pathway by being available to everyone, everywhere. Ready-to-use tablets can be deployed in pharmacies, health clinics, doctors’ surgeries, hospitals, and dermatology clinics.
Tablet-ready app deployed at:
- Pharmacies
- Health clinics
- Doctor’s surgeries
- Hospitals
- Dermatologists
The patient walks into a clinic or sends an image electronically.
They get a melanoma risk assessment in minutes.
High-risk cases are immediately triaged for further investigation by a dermatologist.
